lISA rOSSY pHOTOGRAHY

Lisa Baniahmad, born Lisa Lynn Mogyorossy, hence the name, Lisa Rossy Photography. In honor of my late father, Emiry Lewis Mogyorossy, whom was my creative inspiration since the first day he put art books into my hands at the age of five years old, taking me to endless museums instead of the park from the time we could walk. He loved art and he loved me and without knowing it, he encouraged and exposed his Artist Child to endless inspiration which would set the course of her creative Journey.

Born in Phoenix, AZ, I can clearly remember at the age of 3 - 4 years old being glued to the front window of our house which overlooked a huge mountain which the sun would rise from behind every morning, and depending on the time of year and the weather; storms - lighting shows, the pictures that were created were amazing and so colorful. These images were forever instilled in my Artist Soul - my artist child! At the age of five; our family moved to Santa Clara, Northern California, which was perfectly located between Tahoe, San Francisco, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Carmel, and the Monterey coastline which all proved to be building blocks in the pictures I would take long before I could afford to buy my first camera at the age of 14. At the age of 10, Rolling Stone Magazine and Vogue were my two go-to magazines which I would get lost in for hours putting myself behind the camera in the black and whites of Annie Leibovitz and the famous fashion photographers of Vogue Magazine. I remember asking endless questions “why did they choose to shoot it like that?” “what kind of lighting did they use?” “why was it styled like that?” and on and on. I was deeply moved by images of people in black and white. I was intrigued by people in general. I had a huge fascination about the lives of people I would meet or people I would see on the street. I’m so fascinated with the stories of their lives, their essence, what make them uniquely them. My love of fashion from an early age of 10 when I started making clothes, would turn out to be a 19 year career in Fashion, where taking pictures, writing, producing fashion shows, working as a trend forecaster and consultant to large Retailers from around the world would forever change my life.

Today, I’m currently working on various projects that allow me to push the creative process to new levels and new discoveries in who I am as a Photographer. I continue working on projects in all areas of Portrait, Product, Travel and Landscape. I am currently a student and working on completing my A.A. in Fine Art Photography at College of the Canyons in Valencia, CA.
